The Casella Family Brands Visy Griffith City2Lake Fun Run began as an initiative of Griffith City Council to raise money for St Vincent’s Private Community Hospital Griffith. With the Private Hospital now operational, the 2025
City2Lake Fun Run will raise much needed funds for Can Assist Griffith.
ON THE DAY
Arrival Times: Please arrive at the start line before 7.45am on Sunday 9 March 2025 The start line is located on Campbell Street, Jubilee Oval. If you have not collected your race bib, please arrive between 6.30am and 7.30am.
Early Morning Parking and Buses from the Lake: There will be bus services prior to the event for those wishing to park at the Lake Wyangan Camping Ground. If you would like to park prior to the event, please arrive at the Lake between 6.30am and 7.10am so that the bus can take you back to the start line.
Bag Drop-off/Collection: If you would like to park at the Lake prior to the event & use the free bus service, please arrive at the Lake between 6.30am and 7.10am so that the bus can take you back to the start line. Bus from Lake to Start line leaves at 7.15am. Following the event, there will be a bus service to transport you back to the start line at Jubilee Oval. Return buses will commence at approximately 10.30am. Please listen for announcements regarding bus services. With many thanks to MIA Coaches.
The Route (Please see map below): The 9km route starts at Jubilee Oval, Campbell Street at 8.00am sharp. Those cycling will head off first, followed by runners then walkers. The road from Campbell Street to the Lake Wyangan Picnic Area will be closed to all traffic allowing for participants to safely use the road. Three drink stations will be positioned along the way with first aid patrols. If you are injured, are not feeling well or have come across someone who has been injured, please report to one of our volunteers or First Aid Officers who will arrange help for you. Porta-loos will be available at the start line and finish line.Toilets are also available at Lake Wyangan School along with a water station.
Lake Wyangan Picnic Area: When you arrive at the Lake Wyangan Picnic Area, you will be able to see your time as you cross the finish line. You will also receive a Certificate of Participation upon completion or you will be advised of a web address should you wish to print the certificate at another time. There will be a BBQ and drinks available. Stay on after event at the Lake and enjoy live music and presentation of prizes for Age Group Winners.
Bus Service: Following the event, there will be a bus service to transport you back to the start line at Jubilee Oval will commence at approximately 10.30am. Listen for announcements regarding bus services.
ROAD CLOSURES: The roads along the route will be closed from 7.45am through until 11am. If you would like to travel to the Lake between these times, please follow the detour signs. Please note, cyclists must wait until the event finishes and the road opens if they wish to cycle back to Griffith. ALTERNATIVE ROUTE. If you would like to drive to the Lake while the roads are closed, an alternative route has been devised. This map on the second page of this manual regitration form will assist you in finding your way. (See map here; course is marked in RED)
